Watchmen artist Dave Gibbons draws comic book characters with a Wacom Cintiq

Published - Wednesday, 31 March, 2010

Recently, a couple of us at Ranieri were lucky enough to interview comic book legend Dave Gibbons. He has worked on many iconic graphic novels throughout his career including Superman and Batman. However, he’s probably best known now for his collaboration with Alan Moore on Watchmen.

He traditionally drew graphic novels with pencils and ink, but has more recently upgraded to a Wacom Cintiq 21UX – an interactive pen display with state-of-the-art technology that enables users to draw directly on the screen using a digital pen.

Check out these videos of Dave demonstrating how to draw a character called Martha Washington from a sketch to the final image using the Cintiq 21UX.
