The answers to your questions are here, Ranieri has been speaking to James Holland, editor of Electricpig.co.uk, to get the low down on CES…

What was your highlight of CES?
The Boxee Box media centre and Polaroid’s next-gen analogue camera are both at the top of my list. The pair of them are beautifully designed and tap into a simplified knowledge of what consumers actually want. In Boxee’s case it’s a no-fuss TV streamer that’ll play anything and look the business, backed by open source software to stop it becoming stale. In Polaroid’s, it an admission that they made a mistake in discontinuing their instant film, but a pledge that they’ll soon make it up to us.

What do you think the most exciting product was?
3D TV has the potential to be exciting, but at the moment it remains uncomfortable to watch and lacks the support of primetime content producers. Wake me up when X Factor goes 3D. In the meantime, Sharp’s Quadpixel tech made for more impressive tellies of the non 3D variety. It’s a fundamental change to the way TVs are made, and delivered seriously impressive results.

What couldn’t you lived without during your time in Vegas?
Lip balm and booze.

What was the worst product at the show?
The Wi-Fi in the press room is in with a stab at that title, but from the show floor it has to be the Palm Pre Plus. It was just such a disappointment. Last year, the Pre was all anyone could talk about. Now, with a new iPhone lurking around the corner, Palm has hit back with…. a bit more memory, and a slider that no longer hurts your hand. F- for effort, Palm.

Did you win any money playing poker?
Poker? No. Roulette? Yes. Mainly because the odds are the same drunk or sober.
