My Skiing adventure

Published - Friday, 19 March, 2010

Earlier this month I went Skiing in Utah with my family. I thought it would be a great opportunity to put some of Ranieri’s client’s products through their paces. My Ranieri colleagues enthusiastically went through their stocks to pick out products they felt would be most useful for my holiday. Before I knew it, my bags were filled with loads of Ranieri goodies.

We are often testing our client’s products in the office or out on the streets, but going on holiday gave me a chance to really put each gadget to the test.

Through the early morning haze I hopped onto the plane to Chicago. This gave me the opportunity to try out my first product as British Airways only provided me with some tacky black headphones, which produced a crackly, weak and muffled sound. I proudly produced my own set of etymotic HF2 headphones which isolated surrounding noise and created a really clear sound, they were very conformable too. I was able to listen to my inflight movie in peace.

One of the most useful gadgets that I took with me had to be the Mophie JuicePack Air as it kept my iPhone charged up for sooo much longer. I was able to keep an eye on my e-mails and mess around with my fishing app whilst waiting for my connecting flight. It kept my iPhone charged for most of the holiday. I would have been really frustrated with my iPhone battery had it not been for the Mophie JuicePack Air.

Once landed, we headed to the hotel for some decent sleep and yummy food. All refreshed we hit the slopes and I couldn’t wait to soak up the sun and snow. Before I left my room I packed my camera, camcorder, sweets and ski pass in the lovely Overboard 20L dry tube bag. The slopes were amazing, they were virtually empty and at times I was the only one around. It felt great as I didn’t have to worry about crashing into people – although my mother managed to crash into me once and we both fell to the floor. The Overboard dry tube bag was able to keep all my belongings safe from the snow as it is 100% waterproof.

On the second day, we all felt a bit more confident with our skiing abilities. I decided it was time to pull out the camcorder to get some footage. I used the MEDION LIFE camcorder, another Ranieri product, of course. Hilariously, every time I pointed the camera at my dad, he fell over, I have lots of funny footage that I may send into you’ve been framed. The MEDION LIFE camcorder was simple to use, there was no faffing around with which button to press or video tape to worry about.

On the trip home I wasn’t impressed with any of the inflight movies. I had Devil Wears Prada on my iPhone, so I decided to watch that instead. I used the Scosche KickBack, which is a case for the iPhone that has a leg on the back which enables the iPhone to stand on its side, rather like a picture frame. This meant I could sit my iPhone on the fold-up tray and watch my movie at a comfortable angle without having to hold it. A couple next to me were really impressed with the device and asked me where they could purchase one, I felt very proud to say that I worked for the company that handled the PR for Scosche.
