Sophie and Sarah were there to collect Medion’s Readers Choice award for Best PC Brand, a fantastic award to win that was given based on a combination of customer service and hardware reliability. The runners-up in this category were: Acer, Dell, HP Compaq and Packard Bell.

With most of the big announcements taking place over the first two days, today was mostly a chance for hands on tests of the many funky new handsets which have been launched.

Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest mobile phone conference kicked off yesterday in Barcelona where over 1,300 exhibitors were showcasing the latest in mobile technology.

Last Thursday Ranieri and MEDION organised a dinner event for a few of our journalist friends at Cocoon restaurant, situated on vibrant Regent Street. The modern Asian food was amazing, the atmosphere was lively and as always the company was more than enjoyable.

month’s worth of unique hits for an online gadget news site. The figures were impressive and certainly justify our high opinion of this site as a location for client’s coverage.

Since the beginning of 2009 when we started working with Wacom, I have been using a Bamboo pen tablet instead of a mouse. It took me a couple of days to get used to it but now it feels very natural and I wouldn’t go back…even if you offered me this one http://www.fabstuff.net/products/664. Okay, maybe I would, but only because it’s apparently worth over £14,000. However I would just sell it on eBay before going back to my Bamboo.

There is much speculation in the office today about the upcoming announcement of the new iPhone expected on Monday.  We have decided to hedge our bets on the following; same form factor (shape and size), but with a better camera (3.2 mega pixle) a larger capacity (possibly three different memory sizes?) and of course new software (with any luck a copy and paste functionality).

One of the few successful industries that has continued to grow during the recession has been the computer game industry. According to Iain Thomson of VNUnet, worldwide spending on computer games in 2009 is forecast at $57bn meaning the industry has successfully broadened the audience for games, making them accessible to both sexes and all ages. The Nintendo Wii has been largely responsible for opening the market to a wider demographic and bringing the ‘fun’ back to computer gaming.  However, at this week’s E3 Expo in Los Angeles, Sony and Microscope both unveiled their own motion capture technology to try and reclaim the market.
