Okay, I just about made it into the office today along with a few other brave Ranieri members and to fight the cold we had a lovely hearty lunch consisting of mini sausages, mash potato and baked beans…lovely! A few meetings swapped for conference calls other than that business as normal.

Who battled the elements this morning to make it to work…

The festive season has passed and very Happy New Year to you all too, however 2010 hasn’t exactly got off the way many planned!

What the hell happened last night at 16.30? A few of the guys here were starting to say ‘I think we better make a move, its snowing again…’, then the reports on twitter seemed to indicate that London, then Hemel Hempstead, then Berkhamsted, one by one started to get engulfed by snow…

An interesting document came across my desk today. It was the breakdown of a
month’s worth of unique hits for an online gadget news site. The figures were impressive and certainly justify our high opinion of this site as a location for client’s coverage.

I’ve seen a bit of coverage recently for a new iPhone App called ‘Ping’. So being a good ‘early adopter’, I downloaded it and invited a number of my friends to ‘Ping’ me…

All the App seems to do is enable you to instant message other iPhone users that also have ‘Ping’ downloaded to their iPhone.

One of the guys in the office here came across this YouTube video from Microsoft…it shows a future full of touch screen technology to the point that even your coffee cup will be touch screen by the looks of it. I especially like the phone idea of the handset splitting into two so one is for sound and one is for video of the caller…seems like we are going full circle back to the first telephones that had a separate mouth piece…

This has just been sent round the office email and was originally found on Pocket-Lint…its quite a cheeky advert poking fun at social media addicts!

The funny thing is, is that most of us that are really into Twitter and Facebook probably won’t get the joke!

Morning all…

Spotify has pretty much taken over our office in the last few weeks. It started by one person downloading it and playing their music in the office. That then triggered someone else to download it as they didn’t like the original players music choice, and it has finally resorted to everyone downloading it and putting on their headphones and listening to what they want…

Twitter. Most of us are now signed up to the service and have integrated updates into our daily routine. Having breakfast, tweet it. Getting dressed, tweet it. Heading to work, tweet it. Something interesting happening at work, tweet it. News breaking, tweet it.

Now, excited as I was about the Champions League Final last night, I have to nail my colours to the mast here and state that I am first and foremost a rugby man. I am sure it has something to do with the fact that I was always too clumsy to play football at school and was always stuck in goal!

A busy night of journalist meetings last night culminated a truly stunning experience! Sophie, Louise and I attended the Pocket-Lint drinks at the Alphabet Bar in Soho before nipping over to Greek street to witness what must be London’s most entertaining DJ!

I saw an interesting piece on the BBC Breakfast show this morning about a new device which can control how fast you are driving. The Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) device looks like a sat nav, sits on the dashboard and knows the speed limits of all roads inside the M25.

It is a very uninspiring Friday morning I must admit, however I have just come across a new online magazine that makes me wonder why I spend most of my weekends doing the same old thing! Former freelance journalist and friend of Ranieri, Ed Chipperfield has launched WideWorld, an online magazine devoted to all things outside.

I went to the cinema on Saturday to see ‘Let the right one in’ by Tomas Alfredson, following a recommendation from a now, untrusted source. It is the latest vampire film about an anxious 12year old  boy called  Oskar who is regularly bullied by his classmates but never strikes back. He is very lonely and needs a friend cue… 12 year old vampire named Eli. They build a friendship and strange things happen to people in the little town in which they live and that is pretty much it!

Whilst debating last night’s The Apprentice in the office this morning, a thought struck me. Every week, we see another hapless buffoon shown the door by Sir Alan (though how creepy James survived last night is beyond me) but surely there must be wider implications from each task?

Well it’s been an interesting week, we’ve won another client and things are looking good.

We presented the company vision and performance to the team today, and whilst we have course have been affected by the recession we are still heading in the write direction.

I now have a PlayStation 3! Actually it is my boyfriends but we moved in together at the end of 2008 so what’s his is mine right?

Isn’t there some miracle machine out there?

As the office apple eater and avid gym goer I found today that my iPhone even has applications that enable me to keep a food diary, count calories, plan exercise routines and more. Now I’m not afraid of hard work in the gym but isn’t there some wonder machine out there that can provide a full body workout in 10 minutes or less?

OK, so I have just got home from a long day at the office and being 31 weeks pregnant my much-enjoyed PR lifestyle is just beginning to make its mark!

As some of you know I’m spending alot of time at the moment at the Oxford john Radcliffe hospital because of the baby.

Whilst here I have slot time to kill so I make calls outside, blog using my iPhone etc.

Saturday night, sad as it may be, I watched iRobot, now its not the best film in the world…ok far from it, but I think a lot of films these days, including this one, give a good insight into future technologies. Take Minority Report for example, with its interactive touch screen back in 2002…now look at Microsoft Surface ok, so a little way to go, but its genius.

As some of you know I’ve recently become a father and I’m on paternity…therefore I have more time to watch things on TV that I wouldn’t necessarily watch if I was commuting backwards and forwards to work…but tonight I was watching ‘The One Show’ before Enders…
